Dr. Laytrayal Simmons
Dr. Simmons is a licensed psychologist and professional counselor with over 20+ years of experience in providing therapy to individuals and families. She earned her Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology in 2012 from Howard University. She previously earned her Master’s Degree in 2002 from Georgia State University in Professional Counseling.
My practice focuses on adolescents and adults of all ages. I conceptualize issues from a cognitive-behavioral approach, meaning that I will explore together with you the thoughts and feelings related to your behavior patterns and examine the impact of any biological, psychological, and social factors. We will work together to make manageable changes so that you can feel better and move forward to reach your goals. Therapy often leads to better relationships, solutions to problems, and a reduction in anxiety and stress.
With my background in vocational training and experience interpreting IQ and aptitude tests, I will assess your interests, skills, and personality type. That will help you (1) learn more about your strengths and weaknesses to better articulate them to employers, (2) develop the skills needed for your search, and (3) deal with the stress related to your search or success in the workplace.
